Dios te salve, Reina y Madre de misericordia,
vida, dulzura y esperanza nuestra:

This religious lied is divided into three sections and developes the old chorale Salve Popular Cartagenera by Jose Sanchez Medina; an unisonal hymn usually sung during the most important religious events in the city of Cartagena. In this work, the choir is acompanied by a cello and a piano (which can also be replaced by an organ). However, there are several occasions where we can listen to the cello playing as a soloist. On the contrary, the piano is mainly used for getting the harmonic background while the choir is singing in a classic-romantic way.
