The distinguished clarinetist Rocco Parisi, known for his collaboration with Luciano Berio during the creation and premiere of Sequenza IXc, will present the first movement of Javier Pérez Garrido's Sonata Op.28a for bass clarinet at the 50th Anniversary of Clarinet Fest® in the United States, to be held in July.

Sonata No. 1, Op.28a for bass clarinet is a significant work consisting of seven movements with a minimalist essence, incorporating stylistic influences from classical music and other genres such as blues, jazz, Latin, and rock. Each movement evolves from a musical cell, transforming naturally and progressively. The first movement, Molto Allegro, stands out for its remarkable rhythmic work, built upon a continuous movement that never ceases.

ClarinetFest® 2023 will take place in Denver, Colorado, United States, from July 5th to 9th. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of the International Clarinet Association, the Artistic Leadership Team, led by Wesley Ferreira as Artistic Director, along with Jana Starling, Emily Kerski, Joshua Gardner, and Copper Ferreira, is eagerly anticipating this grand celebration with a wonderfully diverse and comprehensive musical and artistic program under the theme "Our Global Community: Past, Present, Future."

Rocco Parisi has achieved remarkable success in his career, winning numerous international competitions such as T.I.M. Rome and the Orpheus Prize. He is renowned for his talent in contemporary music and innovative techniques on the bass clarinet, collaborating and premiering works by Luciano Berio, Ennio Morricone, Arturo Márquez, and others.
