Composer and conductor Javier Pérez Garrido will be one of the leading figures at the 30th Anniversary Concert of Agrupación Musical Nuestra Señora de la Soledad de Los Molinos Marfagones, which will take place on June 7 at 6:30 p.m. at El Batel Auditorium in Cartagena, Spain. Conceived as a major celebration of three decades of musical activity, the event will bring together musicians, supporters, and followers of the ensemble for a very special evening marked by emotion, reunions, and music by composers closely connected to the region.

One of the most anticipated moments of the concert will be the world premiere of Building the Great Pyramid, Javier Pérez Garrido’s new symphonic work. The composition offers a musical journey into Ancient Egypt and represents one of the composer’s most ambitious creations to date. Pérez Garrido is internationally recognized for his extensive catalog of works for wind band and orchestra.

In addition to conducting this new score, Pérez Garrido will lead performances of several of his own compositions, including Urban Concert for tenor saxophone and wind band, a vibrant and contemporary work, as well as Beso Mediterráneo, a flamenco tango inspired by the timeless romance between the Mediterranean Sea and the city of Cartagena.

Another highlight of the celebration will be Anniversary Overture, a brilliant and festive composition by Javier Pérez Garrido. Thanks to its unmistakably celebratory character, the work has been featured in numerous anniversary concerts and commemorative events around the world.

The concert will also feature guest composer José Alberto Pina, who will conduct selections from his own repertoire, and will open with the pasodoble Julián Morote, conducted by the ensemble’s Music Director, Daniel Sánchez, as a tribute to the founder and former director of the organization.

For Agrupación Musical Nuestra Señora de la Soledad, this concert represents one of the most significant milestones in its recent history, celebrating thirty years of music, dedication, and cultural commitment with a performance that promises surprises for the audience until the very end.
