Fantasía, Op.14 is a symphonic piece composed by Javier Pérez Garrido in 2005 for a symphonic concert band. It is mainly influenced by American style music and orchestration
In the first section the heroic and enthusiastic main theme is played in a brisk and lively tempo called Allegro con spirito. After its development, an important transition leads to the romantic second theme, played in a slow and expressive tempo.
In this second section, most of the instruments play as soloists -even the harp and the celesta-. The importance of chamber orchestration in the Largo con Espressione is evident and its development is made by a Lied divided into several secondary sections. Finally, a new transition in Allegro con spirito prepares us to listen to the main theme again, this time with important changes. This third and last section also includes a brilliant coda which builds to a final apotheosis.
